I scream, you scream...

Daniel was sick last week and I had the pleasure (really!) of staying home with him for a day. It was actually a lot of fun to spend time with just him - no little brother following him around, pestering him. We went to our local bakery (the Medici, which is lovely), because I wanted a latte to celebrate my day off.

Daniel got really excited about the idea of ice cream, despite the early spring chill in the air - he claimed that it would soothe his throat or something. He was visibly upset when the nice man behind the counter said that they were out of cones, however. He was all hoarse and had a barky cough, and I think the man felt sorry for him. He waxed nostalgic about eating rainbow sorbet himself as a child, then LOADED up his cup with way more than the one scoop that I paid for. I love having a neighborhood bakery!

As you can see from the picture, he really liked it.

The Cereal Files

So, for some reason, Noah has been going through a phase recently of wanting (demanding!) that I take a picture of his cereal at the breakfast table each morning. I have no idea why, and he seems to have forgotten to ask me to do this in the last few days.
The pictures are awfully funny, though, mostly because they are the SAME (except for his shirt) each day. He always wants the "BLUE bowl" but not the blue spoon. He always sits in the same chair. He always fills the bowl up with the maximun amount of milk that it will hold before overflowing. He always giggles with pride when I show him the picture.
Funny boy.
